In a moment I could tell the true strength of the flower
By the cut of her petal and the sun t'was allowed her
Not every day was a full cast of beam caught
But on did it blossom regardless of loss
Though tucked away from the fray of path cut
This flora was blessed with an angle of luck
Neath the eave of a well, seeping slow through the mortar
Was the only consistent, proper offer of water
Through circumstance of pure slight and perchance to partake
Of a path mostly pardoned for the less costly way
Did the eye of the artist glean the hue of such grace
To befall the equation of time added to place
Though only a breath — a thread slipped through an eye
Was the sight so uncanny that it was bound to his mind
