As a little girl I was always facinated by all the tourists that would flood my island. I always wondered where they came from and what life was like for them.
I wanted to travel to places with colors entirely different from the blue and green of Hawaii. I wanted to see the green and gray of the northwest, the brown and blue of the desert and the pure white of the east coast in the winter.
So I went, I saw, I learned and then I wanted more. I wanted more than just different color schemes, I wanted to hear people speaking different languages, to observe different cultures and to experience things I hadn't even thought of yet because I didn't even know they existed.
I think traveling is a very important thing for everyone. If more people had a desire to live outside of their own cultures or countries then I think we'd all have a much better understanding of who we are and why we all do what we do.
