I am a retired scientist that travels the Western US gold prospecting and she is a retired teacher that likes bird watching.
We are both well-educated and enjoy some pretty heady fireside chats. Age has slowed us both down a bit, I've given up serious climbing and snow skiing. I still like hiking and tent camping, but mainly as a means to reach remote prospecting locations.
The girl we are looking for... has to be flexible and not adverse to spending a day grubbing in the dirt looking for gold or spending time in an algae-encrusted natural hot springs.
Having your own income to contribute for fuel means the wheels roll further and more often, which will bring you to the head of the line.
Our goal is to spend the next few years traveling around Arizona, Nevada, California, & Oregon. We prefer to boondock (remote disconnected camping) in National Forests and on BLM (Bureau of Land Management) land.
