Dreams have always been an enigma to humankind. Why do we dream? Is there any significance to what we see in our dreams? Are they in any way linked to our real life? These are some questions that psychoanalysts, dream analysts, and therapists have pondered over many times. According to Sigmund Freud, our dreams are in fact the repressed urges and impulses, which we are unable to express in our real life as we are expected to conform to societal norms and live by the 'rules'. However, somewhere down the line, these urges remain in our subconscious mind and are released in disguised forms, i.e., through dreams. Thus, an individual can actually know his true-self and listen to his inner voice if he is able to interpret his dreams appropriately.
