I recently came to the conclusion that there is no point wasting time with all that uncertainity when going out when at the end of the night both of you are not looking for a relationship but the much needed human instinct of, well, let's say a good end to the night (or day, or anytime really).
So this way seems the best bet, of course there is nothing more fun than going out for the night for a drink or to see a band, but more so when you know what's waiting at the end.
