Honor and loyalty are not just words or things you can touch. Honor and Loyalty is a philosophy.. a frame of mind.. A personal choice.
How does one define Honor and Loyalty?
Webster's would define honor as high respect, as that shown for special merit or the dignity accorded to position. Loyalty would be defined as the state or quality of being loyal, fidelity to a superior, or to duty, love, etc. Dictionary meanings.
Honor could also be defined as nobility of mind. A choice of behavior that defines you to those around you whether that be your family, your friends or the stranger you met on the road and shared miles with. Honor bonds you with your word. Honor says that you will do what you say. Honor is in your actions. Honor is in your heart.
What is Loyalty? Loyalty is dedication. Dedication to your family, friends.. Dedication to a Code. Loyalty is always being there. Loyalty is belief in a cause.
Honor is in our hearts. It bonds us as we are loyal to that bond.
As I am free to make choices in this country, I choose to make honor and loyalty a signpost in my person... as an important part of who I am. As long as your honor defines who you are and you remain loyal to that honor, your respect by others will grow.
