A few years ago I backpacked 600 miles in Ireland. I accomplished this in 60 days. I tried to stay away from pockets of people. Sometimes I didn't see another person for over a week. I made this journey by myself unless I hiked with a backpacking woman that I met on the trail. Do you backpack? How about hiking or camping? Do you enjoy reading?

I would like to tell you about The Soft Machine book. It was written by William S. Burroughs in 1961. It was the first book in his Cut-Up Trilogy. I particularly enjoy reading introductions and epilogues. The Soft Machine has a 53 page introduction. I love reading the introduction to The Soft Machine. It is the "best" that I have ever read. This behavior became every week-end. This was okay with me as long as you told me every detail.
