i think without a strong basis of friendship a relationship will struggle? Real friendship brings honesty, trust, communication, positivity, discovery, laughter, vulnerability etc...all huge building blocks. Physical attraction is great and important but without these other key pieces it ends up falling apart. Take trust alone. Without it, there can be no real relationship...and that is just one element.
