I believe it's important to understand what's actually going on in the world around us, and not simply accept the cultural explanations that seem to satisfy everybody else. I want this both because I'm a truth seeker and because I want to make decisions that will prepare me for some of the changes that I believe are inevitable. I strive to remain open-minded and flexible, however, because there is a certain amount of chaos that will sometimes surprise me just when I think I have it all figured out.
