I'm a historical re-enactor; specifically a Viking age early medieval one. On weekends I dress up like a Saxon and hit people with blunt metal weapons, and a couple of times a year I head out into the bush with a group of the like-minded and spend a long weekend eating, drinking, fighting, crafting and talking by a roaring campfire. I also do public performances and displays aimed at educating and entertaining kids and adults alike.
Unfortunately this doesn't bring in much money, or I would do it for a living. A series of unfortunate events led to the demise of the company I used to work for, and I am now an unemployed bum. i have a fair bit of time to myself, which I fill with, in no particular order -
- western martial arts
- drinking
- tabletop RPGs (DnD, Pathfinder, Shadowrun, Runequest)
- video games (the Elder Scrolls, LoL, Mechwarrior Online)
- writing bullet point lists
