Sniffing out someone sexy

Have you heard of pheromone dating? Don’t worry, we hadn’t heard of it up until not long ago!

Picture this, dozens of people in a room together, they’ve all got a secret number assigned to them. On a table lies numbered bags, they all contain a shirt that each individual member has worn. You go sniff some shirts not knowing who they belong to and (according to the laws of nature) you should find a mate that you’re sexually attracted to from the pheromones given off the material. Then you give in the numbers that you liked the sniff of and you meet up with your pongy partners correlating to those numbers.

Remember that up until that last point you have no idea what these people look like and all you know about them is what their pits smell like. Would you still give it a go?

Do you believe in the whole pheromones for attracting a mate concept or do you think all this sniff dating stinks a bit and the biggest natural decider for our attraction is more appearance based? Not forgetting personality also!

I've read of similar research projects run by psychology departments who have tried experiments like this and there does appear to be a very strong correlation between scent and attraction
