Re: READ THIS BEFORE POSTING A NEW TOPIC

WARNING: A long rant to follow.

Hello everyone.

First things first... I'm curious about this lifestyle and would like to possibly explore it. I've recently met some people into the lifestyle and I have to say that generally, you guys are really nice people. Maybe the general lack of sexual tension and jealousy as well as the espousal of openness provides less resistance to friendliness;I don't know, but I like the result.

With that said, I thought I would add my 2 dollars worth (inflation is murder). I am a standard member who happened to stumble upon this site a short while back. For those among you who have already checked out my profile, yes, I am a Yankee playing on the wrong continent. I don't know how I missed that when I signed up. Anyway, I digress. I read a few topics out of curiosity and it seems one of the most common complaint seems to be the ineffectiveness of this site. I can see a few contributing factors as to why -- from a non-premium member point of view at least. They are as follows:

1. Not being able to respond to premium members as a standard member seems to be the default setting. I think some people are not aware of this. I , myself, must seem like a 'RUDE' person to the 3 people who sent winks and a message. Not true; I just couldn't respond to them.

2. 3 day delay before being able to respond to new topics? Not really conducive to timely flowing discussions.

3. It would be nice to be able to see a few more pictures andor a little bigger pictures. Pictures are an integral part of the search process. Perhaps a few morsels to whet the appetite as opposed to a crumb that necessitates a flossing with no satisfaction?

4. There seems to be an implied assurance of usable functionality for standard members at the time of sign-up. I have to say that I haven't found my standard membership satisfying. It seems navigating through this site leaves me with a sense of inadequecy. From the get go after signing on, one is immediately confronted with a membership upgrade hardsell. Trying to post on the forum is met with a overly restrictive 72h delay. When attempting to respond to contact initiated by the other party, I am greeted by a gentle reminder of my miserly status. Other functionality are blockaded by a detour to the upgrade page.

Now don't get me wrong, I understand this is a commercial site and $$ is made from premium members. The current utility of a standard membership or lack thereof is a major deterrent to upgrading, at least for me. It would seem from reading some of the posts that a number of premium members are experiencing low success rates (e.g., no response from 'rude' members). Now imagine how much success standard members with our effectively castrated privileges would have in comparison.

Swinging, being an alternative lifestyle out of the mainstream, is only as strong as the practicing community. I think it an active supporting community is essential to it's growth or at least it's sustainability. I believe this is true of any ideal out of the mainstream. I am going to go out on a limb here and assume that the site owners are into this for more than just the money. If that is the case, then maybe they would be willing to make some changes that would help to foster this most intriguing lifestylecommunity.

Low satifisfaction as a standard member could result in us following one of two paths. First, upgrade to the premium status. Second, give up and move on. I'm a believer in positive reinforcement and so I believe the second path will be the one better travelled. Ultimately, this exodus of new blood andor inability to attract them would lead to premium members becoming dissatisfied and possibly leaving or not renewing their memberships.

Now, I'm no philosopher or economist, but I am somewhat proficient at math. So here's my attempt at a little social algebra:
Active thriving community = more interest.
More interest = more new members + better retention
More new members + better retention = higher satisfaction + more $$
Higher satisfaction = active thriving community = snowball effect + win-win situation for all.
Could someone check my math.

So, what is the point of my diatribe? Perhaps the site owners will consider endowing standard members with some more 'usable' privileges, if only for a trial period to would allow us new guys to test drive the site beyond the parking lot. They could also think of it as a gesture of appreciation to the existing premium members by opening up more opportunities for contact.

As I've stated above I don't live in EnglandEurope and I'm not even a practicing member of the lifestyle. So, what does this mean? I really don't have a vested interest in changes made to this site. So, hopefully, it also means I'm no cheap bastard looking for a free lunch. I just wanted to share my thoughts and wish those truly into the lifestyle success--and yes, I am extremely bored.

I know I'll most likely never actually meet any of you being separated by an ocean, but I've invested so much time with this rant that I think I will stick around and check in to this site occasionally if I haven't worn out my welcome with this. After all, I am a LurkingVoyeur :)

BTW: I don't pretend to assume the concerns stated above have not been voiced by others before me. If anything, I am reiterating them in a centralized depot.

Byi...i...i... Damn, I think I wore out the E key img src="imagesadultemoticons003.gif"

Just a stab in dark as I've done it, but try is hitting the new topic button at the bottom left of thread screen.

Problem with "Am I hot" photo

I've this problem, too. Seems to be a general problem. If I change th settings, the updated page shows everting ok, but next time, the "hide" box is ticked. Tried it for several days. A solution would be great.

Love

I've just joined but it seems alot!! Even the non-premium members say only premium member can e-mail them!

I know it will stop alot of timewasters getting through but there are some genuine people that have the classic memebership!

Re: READ THIS BEFORE POSTING A NEW TOPIC

IT SEEMS THE ADMIN TEAM ARE AVOIDING MY QUESTION

DONT FORGET FOLKS DONT SIGN UP AS YOU CANT CANCILL YOUR MEMBERSHIP

Re: READ THIS BEFORE POSTING A NEW TOPIC

For any members having problems cancelling their premium membership please us the onsite contact us button and send us your enquiry via the helpdesk.

It's no good just posting it in the forums if you wish to cancel your subscription as it will just get removed.

Only the staff on the helpdesk can cancel it or you can cancel it yourself by going into your profile and then profile options.

Thanks

Re: READ THIS BEFORE POSTING A NEW TOPIC

ARE THE ADMIN STAFF SIMPLE??????????

WHATS HARD ABOUT THIS FOR THE ADMIN STAFF TO UNDERSTAND. I HAVE SENT MANY E MAILS TO YOU AND YOU DONT DO A THING NOT EVEN REPLY AND I CANT CANCEL THE NORMAL WAY AS ITS SAYS THE IMFO IS NOT RIGHT.
ALL I WANT TO DO IS CANCEL THE MEMBERSHIP .

HOW MANY E MAILS HAVE I TO SEND??????????

Re: READ THIS BEFORE POSTING A NEW TOPIC

We do not reply to normal emails as we have no way to track these. To be honest there is also the problem that we might not have received the email.

As we said in our last forum post please click on the contact us button on the righ hand side of this page and complete the form and submit it. This way you can track your enquiry as can we and your billing subscription will be cancelled.
Thanks
