Cottaging rules?

Hi.
I've been hanging around the local woods in my car, watching the guys go of into the trees, but i'm too scared to join them. I have no idea how to go about getting some 'action' without offending, or going further than I want to. Why don't Adult Education Centres run courses on this stuff??? Can anyone with constructive advice help me, please?
