Talking about swinging with a new partner

This has always been something I have found to be an interesting one, and it's not just for swingers - it's probably more relevant for other sexual categories.

For example - let's say, I, a single male, am into Rope Play, or something similar, which is really the only thing that gets me off. Do I say to myself, right, you can never chat anyone up in the pub because there's no point as it will take ages to get them round to the idea of it? Or do i just use the internet and specialist dating to determine whether my partner will be into this?

It must be tricky, as if someone catches your eye in the pub, and you chat them up and get along like a house on fire, go out for a few weeks, things are looking good and then you have to explain that you enjoy swinging, and all the aspects of this...Isn't that really difficult? I can only really assume it must be due to the popularity of meeting partners online.
