Candy apple red is quite likely my favorite color. I remember falling in love with that color as a young boy. It was the new color of the car in Corvette Summer. It held the magic of transformation in its mystique. What a strange and facinating thing it is to fall in love with a color. To this day I am hypnotized by the glimmering beauty of candy apple red.
Yesterday I painted my nails in candy apple red. Oh how it glimmers and makes my nails shimmer, catching my eye as they dance in the light.
I am so used to wearing nail polish in these short weeks that I sometimes forget I am wearing it at all. Yesterday I almost left the house with nails painted candy apple red. I only noticed as I was dropping off the trash on my way to the elevator. I had to chuckle to my self at the thought of what reactions that would have brought. The world is a very strange place in that regard after all.
This morning when I woke up my nails were painted candy apple red. I had to go out again today. I didn't have the heart to take it off nor the inclination. So I grabbed a pair of gloves under the cover of winter and a hint of this plandemic. No one would bat an eye but I felt like a bit of a fraud inside. I wish that I could show this world the beauty of candy apple red.
