My online encounter, first part

I met Suzie on a meetup website for BDSM devotees.


She had 'liked' my profile, and followed up with a message that amused me: 'I like your profile', which was a little redundant and un-original if you think about it. I replied with 'Thank you for contacting me. Feel free to message me any time', then proceeded to think no more about it, considering that Suzie was less than half my age. Out of curiosity, I took a look at her profile. She was twenty, Asian, still in college, and rated herself as 'a few extra pounds'. That was hard to verify because her profile image was a tight head shot, although she was obviously Asian and had nice plump apple cheeks. Not a beauty, but she had a kind of youthful appeal and naiveté.

To my surprise, two days later, she messaged me again, and that was the start of a long online correspondence. We messaged back and forth every few days for a solid month, first on the message board, and later privately after we exchanged emails, and I discovered a lot about her. She described herself as intelligent, nerdy, bookish and academic, with few acquaintances and no real friends. She was in the second year of university in a professional faculty, which she didn't really like much but made her parents happy. She lived at home with her parents and one brother, and she complained about them quite regularly. Her parents were traditional, strict, and cut her brother a lot more slack than they did her.

Suzie had lost her virginity at a post-grad party where she had been urged into drinking too much alcohol, to a boy who had treated her like a wet hole and left her unsatisfied and with worries over pregnancy and infectious diseases, neither of which came to pass, to her profound relief. She had had no-one to confide in or tell her story to, and was so happy to unburden herself to me that I began to feel a strong sense of compassion for her. She told me that she had been a little attracted to my profile as someone experienced in B&D, but even more so when my first few messages were decent and respectful rather than crude or sexual. It's fair to say that we struck up an unusual but real friendship.

I came to understand that Suzie had lived a conventional, buttoned-down life, and was expected by her family to have a conventional, buttoned-down future, and at twenty she was already dreading it. She was genuinely aroused by BDSM videos, but I think she also saw it as a secret form of escape from expectations. I also suspect that flirting around the edges of a 'relationship' with a man more than twice her age was another.

After about a month and a half, Suzie finally got up the courage to agree to meet me in a neutral place for a lunch date. I picked a restaurant just off campus that it would be easy for her to reach without arousing parental suspicions.
