New Year – a first in so many ways!

11:57 am Sunday, 4th January, 2009

Well those of you who noticed would have known I was at a loose end between Christmas and New Year, not only that but I was in my naughtiest frame of mind... I was looking to do something a bit different and boy did I!!!

Let me explain, I was looking in the ‘meet today’ section of the site and this guy caught my eye, he was miles away but I thought ‘what the hell’ I’ll message him and at least comment on his profile even though there would be no way we could have met – I wanted him to know I’d have been there in a shot, if I’d had the right form of transport!! He on the other hand replied that he thought the distance was not a problem – there’s a surprise!! I declined but we talked for a while anyway. Turned out we were both free on New Year’s Eve although he had advance tickets to a party nearer to him but no date. Well you know me, the term red rag to a bull (dare) and spontaneous pretty much go hand in hand in my book and I was hooked.

It was the 29th December , not really long enough to get to know someone by msn or web cam, but hey we were going to a ‘social’ party what do you need to know to have fun and if we didn’t get on then no harm done, a peck on the cheek at midnight and we’d have parted as friends.

I decided that if I was going to do this I was going to make a huge effort in my appearance, so I decided on a fake tan – the first ,first. Ladies, if you are reading this and you’ve never had a fake tan before, take my advice, don’t have one for the first time two days before the event you are attending!! It was only a few little niggles – the orange finger tips, where I ignored the advice from the salon and not to touch my skin for a while till it had ‘developed’ and if I did, then wash your hands immediately.. Thinking that sitting on the floor was a better alternative to sitting down when told to stand for as long as possible at least for a few hours – it leads to any creases in your skin being a lot paler than the rest of you –other than that I looked wonderfully healthy and tanned, and being one of the more pricey ones I was actually brown not orange (except the concentrated application on my fingertips!) What I can tell you trust me when I say that there is nothing under the sun that removes it – lol.

New years Eve...
It took me about four hours to gather my all too familiar nerves and I threw everything into my bag that I might possibly need – I was not coming back that night, another first! We were booked in to a hotel – yet another first – I don’t like the idea of hotels, but didn’t really have a choice on this one this time. I had set off about two hours later than expected and my date seemed none too pleased when I told him which junction I was at – he was expecting me to have been at the door about now – there was nothing I could do so I apologised – he was ok about it. I nearly came home at that point, my legs were like jelly and had been since I left work that afternoon so if he was annoyed with me there was no loss – between you and me, realistically there was no way I was going to pass on this opportunity.

I eventually got there after a few minor direction problems - I got out of the car to greet him, mmm nice, tall and devilishly handsome – good choice :o) he drove my car I don’t like the idea of driving a man and it’s one of those being looked after kind of things too.
We arrived at Chameleons at about 10pm in the end, my heels were giving way as we walked towards the doors, I was having to take a few deep breaths and I thought I was going to have a heart attack, my heart was beating so loud I am sure others could hear it – I smiled as I was told to do – it helps with nerves apparently – and in fact it does help it turns out. We entered the club handed over our wine and went through to the lounge. TBC.....
