There's No Such Thing as Dungeon Passes or Any Kind of Pass

11:27 am Tuesday, 20th November, 2018

Hey everyone,

So we’re aware that those using deceitful tactics against genuine members are employing some different methods. Below is an example of an email that one of our real members has reported to us. These tactics used are by no means comprehensive or representative of what they may send you so please always be cautious.

The numbered bullet points below refer to equivalent numbered arrows on the screenshot of the email also below. We will discuss each point further as to why you should be suspicious should you receive any contact from someone with which it shares a resemblance.

1.Dungeon Pass - There is no such thing!

We do not ask our members for any kind of pass, be it a ‘dungeon pass’, ‘dating pass’ or any form of ‘pass’ whatsoever. These are all fictitious.

2.Card details

Unless you are at our payment page within our site, we will never ask for you to enter your card details. If you are unsure, please speak to our Helpdesk staff.

3. Badmouthing Online Protection/Past Tactics Outside of The Site

If you receive contact outside of the site which discusses reporting Online Dating Protection or the likes, do not trust it. They are attempting to make themselves look genuine by discussing other previous tactics which they’ve used in a negative light.

We discuss the fakes’ tactics within this StaySafe section of the site along with the occasional email contact, for instance via our newsletter. All contact which you will receive from us outside of the site will be sent by email address: mail@thehubpeople.com with no variations on this. Even if there is the slightest discrepancy from the above sender email address’ spelling - do not trust it.

You can check a sender email address by either hovering over or clicking the sender name at the top of an email.

4. Deleting Your Account for No Good Reason

Unless you request it or there’s a very good reason such as you repeatedly breaking a site rule, we will not delete your account. The only time you will be asked to agree to terms and conditions will be when you first sign up on the site. With this talk of terms and conditions and of deleting your profile, they’re simply trying to scare you into doing what they want. If you’d like to clarify what site rules are, please talk to the Helpdesk staff.

5.We don't Need Passes

To reiterate, we do not make ANY form of passes. We simply advise that our members stay within the safety of our site as we can recall all contact made on here and can thoroughly investigate any communication needs be. If a member seems suspicious, the moderation staff will investigate and act accordingly but will never ask for any form of ‘pass’.

Outside of the site, we have no control and unfortunately we can’t do much to help aside from give you advice on keeping yourself safe from tricksters as a preventative measure, these fakes know that full-well hence why they’re so eager to get you off-site.

6.Avoiding Speaking to Admin

This is a ploy to deter you from speaking to our Helpdesk staff who would deem this communication as bogus. We will always advise that you speak to our Helpdesk staff if ever you’re in doubt about something.

We hope that this gives you some more insight into what to look out for, thanks so much for taking the time to read through and make yourself aware. Please also read through the rest of this section in order to be armed with the knowledge that could keep you safe and others also.

Whilst we have a round the clock moderation staff whose job it is to monitor the site and keep it secure, we do still need your help as inevitably some are going to slip through the net. If you should come across someone you believe to be suspicious at all, please report them to our mod team either via one of two methods:

1.The three-dotted button under a member’s profile description which upon clicking, will display a drop-down menu containing the ‘Report Member’ option.
2. By submitting a Helpdesk ticket which contains as much information as possible including their username, details of your suspicion and time and date of contact should they have contacted you.

We massively appreciate any help that you can give us towards weeding out the unscrupulous people on here and maintaining a great community to be amongst.

By simply applying your awareness and a little caution to every contact which you receive, you will be effectively protected whilst also getting maximum enjoyment from your time on the site.
