Recession Busting Date Ideas

4:50 pm Wednesday, 27th November, 2013

If the recession is taking its’ toll on you and corners need to be cut in all areas to make ends meet, including your life then don’t despair. There are many things aside from dining in fancy schmancy restaurants you can do that won’t cost you an arm and a leg.

Can Cook, Will Cook

Pick a recipe with reasonably priced ingredients then prepare and cook it together. You save on the transport and a hell of a lot of money by doing it yourself, it’s also much more personal also which your other half or date will most likely appreciate if they’re the down to earth type.

I Want To Ride My Bicycle

Roller skates and bicycles can be rented for a cheap cost, even better if you already own them! If you’re not into rolling around then how about walking? If you have a dog take it for a nice big walk somewhere secluded. Your canine chum will be ever so grateful and you and your date get some time to chat in a remote and quiet setting.

Book It

Should you share a mutual love of books try a bookstore where coffee and hot beverages are served, giving you a relaxed backdrop to discuss your favorite written works amongst the clink of coffee cups on saucers and smell of freshly ground coffee beans.

King Me

Board games aren’t just checkers and games your nan would like, every once in a while what’s wrong with a friendly yet competitive game of Monopoly or a hilariously clumsy bit of Twister?

Where The Wild Things Are

If you’re both the animal loving types why not unleash your inner child and try out the local zoo? If you’re feeling brave get to the creep crawly area and test your nerves with who can pick up what.

Most of us are feeling the pinch, but that doesn’t mean your the romance department of your life needs to as there is plenty of ideas that won’t involve you wracking up a hefty credit card bill or remortgaging the house.
