A lot of people would argue with the statement that perhaps, porn can be bad for you. Maybe some of these people are dedicated sex video watchers, or maybe they’ve never even seen attempted watching erotic media yet have their own opinions on it.
The Potential Issues
Porn can definitely be a totally acceptable accompanying niche of a couple’s sex life and relationship. It’s when it starts causing issues with the viewer’s life or those close to them that it should be treated with caution.
Big not always better
The people involved in a porn movie will most of the time have abnormally optimal physical traits such as an oversized penis or trim, fit figure. They also make the sex acts they’re carrying out look simple or perform extreme or possibly even dangerous acts. This is their job however and they’re within a controlled environment which some people can forget as they become so engrossed. If the viewer doesn’t have the right mindset about porn, they could risk their self esteem being knocked down and over estimating what is expected of them during sex.
Women as a ‘Thing’
Women’s place within a porno is that of an object, they’re viewed as something that’s there to satisfy the man. It’s as demeaning as it sounds, the women in sex movies don’t utter a word as though they are in their ‘rightful place’ among the hierarchy of the genders. For younger teenage viewers who witness this, (they’ll find a way to get their paws on it) this could make a negative impression on viewing the opposite sex as an equal rather than as higher or lower in due respect.
Decline in Their Social Skills
A lot of men (women too) are losing any confidence and social skills regarding talking face to face with the opposite sex and wooing a possible mate because they’re opting for the easy choice of hiding behind a computer screen to gain their sexual gratification. They’re losing out on the important experience a social setting can bring to finding a potential partner and dealing with every day life.
Quality v Quantity
A regular porn watcher will notice that sooner or later it takes more extreme content to pleasure them. The human brain’s pleasure receptors react on moderate stimulation of something. If they receive this same stimulation in copious amounts, the person’s ability to gain any sexual pleasure may wane and they will find themselves needing something a bit different or more explicit to gratify their urges.
Porn if you wish to use it should be treated as a once in a while thing and shouldn’t be abused as there are risks involved with watching too much of it.
