April Fool’s Day is around the corner causing roommates, best friends and lovers around the world to begin bemoaning the onslaught of practical jokes they’re about to be subjected to.
Not all pranks are as basic as plastic-wrapped toilets, fake spiders and jump scare. In 1959 a bunch of Brazilian students came together to get a rhinoceros elected to their city council. They did so well that the 4-year-old rhino, Cacareco, won the vote with landslide result of 100,000 votes – compared to the runner up nominee with only 10,000 votes.

A previous work colleague would wear a pork pie hat, we got hold of exact match but slightly small, we would swap hats over at various time, he was convinced that his head was shrinking and growing larger at various times of dayweek, we got 2 weeks of pleasure out of that, just prior to him seeking professional medical help. |

The craziest prank I did wasn't on April 1st, but it was in April as my mother's birthday was upon me. Not having a cake for her, some band mates pulled this stunt on me, so I did it to my mom. I gave her a sponge cake, which in reality was a rubber foam cut round and had icing all over it. Like myself when the prank was pulled on me, my mother tried cutting it, but the problem was, it couldn't be cut like a cake. Every knife she tried just kind of bounced up when trying to cut it. The foam was nearly impossible to cut, and when she realized the so called "sponge cake" wasn't really a cake at all, she went bonkers chasing me around with a knife in her hand! My dad and siblings broke out laughing, as did I and my mother. She could not believe she got pranked! It was one of the funniest moments I will never forget. |
