I ran into this new verification scam that is running around now.
They will point you to a company called Jumio. This is a legit company in business to provide a verified ID suitable for online use. The one thing it doesn't do is say you are "safe" to be with, it just means someone has seen your documents and it is really you.
Where the scammers come in at is they will send you an email with a sign up link. That link has a re-direct and does NOT take you to Jumio. It takes you through the old sign up for porn sites stuff just like old.
