I am always flattered when someone takes the time to add me to Like my profile or add me to their hotlist. It shows they are interested enough in my profile to take an action. What I don't understand is why that action isn't followed by a private message confirming that interest. Without that follow-up the hotlisting is meaningless and easily ignored.
It is simple enough to send a message along the lines of: "I just added you to my hot list because (enter something about the profile that appealed to you), and I hope you will reply to this message so that we may become better acquainted."
I will always reply to a message of that sort.
