Gray Area and Silver Lining Pt.2

4:50 pm Friday, 11th January, 2019

I am bad with “goodbyes”. As I dropped him off, I can feel from his tone that he was expecting me to say that I want to see him again. Again, I am bad with “goodbyes”. I was just listening to him and said a slight “thank you” before he alighted from my car. My head was reeling.
As I was driving, a lot of things were running in my mind. Thinking and rethinking of what just transpired. But as decent person that I am, I decided to send him a text message thanking him for the good time we had.
As soon as I got home, I immediately sent him an SMS. Thanking him for the time well spent. I know, he wanted to see me again and so did I. He replied sooner than expected. A little chitchat and a little later, he proposed that if we can be “something more”. More… I felt anxious. Yes. It was the first time in years that someone popped that question.
I agreed. I did… with the reservation since it was still quite early. I was not expecting a big commitment yet. I want to take things slowly.
We met again a few days after. I was not comfortable with the sweetness yet. However, I did enjoy the company. I enjoyed the time I was with him.
Everyday phone calls. Updates on daily basis. I got to know him. Social media became accessible. First fight took off from there. Posts about the past that are still there. I was already attached. Naturally,I would get alarmed.
I offered friendship with benefits since I do not want to be in situation which will leave me in an awkward situation. He refused. He asked me to stay with him until he sorted his life. I agreed.
We went on with what we have. We dated on an exclusive, regular basis.
