Can't believe it's been five years...

Nice to have the opportunity to get back on the site and see what I may have missed (must get around to upgrading again...).

Not a lot has been happening personally, still single, the club has closed down so not socialising/working as hard on that front, but the bands have ramped up the workload - the cover band has been back together for the last 3yrs, and we have an EP recorded for the other one with a new album on the way.

Anyone who saw my last entry will know I left here feeling sorry for myself over the situation with T, well that ended quite suddenly with her now ex cheating on her at one of our gigs (he got a position in the cover band to help raise cash for them, the boys and the two he had with her.  Money for which she didn't see a penny as it turns out.  He's gone now, good riddance).

So, I'm spending a lot of time with T again.

Still sharing a house with mates, so haven't had many opportunities to dress or expand my wardrobe - the mannequin in the corner has more stuff than me, lol, but always on the lookout and still appreciate the effort a lot of the girls I get to see go through.

A big change in my future has just happened - as I type this, I'm convalescing at home after surgery. I'd been in to hospital for dilatory surgery (which involves having a catheter inserted) to open up a blockage due to scar tissue growth from reconstructive surgery down below that I'd had when I was younger. While I was under, the surgeon took a biopsy to see why the growth was happening.

I then got called in to say the growth was cancerous. Yep, I had a rare form penile cance, for which the best known treatment was more reconstructive surgery after removal of the tumour.

So I've just been back into hospital, and had half of my penis removed. What this means for any future I may have regarding my (mostly dormant) sex life, I have yet to find out, but it's likely I'll be looking into alternative methods (and tbh, it's not the prettiest of sights, lol).  But at least I still have something there.  The alternatives being either a full 'penectomy', or even emasculation.

So, yeah, long way of getting around to saying this, but please, check yourselves regularly.  It was shocking to see how many were in for similar surgeries on the day of my op, but also one hell of a wake-up call.

1 in 4 people currently get affected by cancer in their lifetimes, 1 in 400,000 develop penile cancer or similar (prostate or bowel cancers are a lot more common), and, by my research, only two people in the history of American medicine have had penile cancer as a result of hypospadias (the condition I was born with that lead to this in the first place).

Wishing you all the best of health and apologies if anyone finds this depressing 😉

Xxxxx
