Like many counties, Chile has a national drink.. the pisco sour. It is tangy, lemony, sweet and frothy due to the egg white. What they dont tell you is that has a very high alcohol content. Some varieties as much as 60 percent. The high sugar content disguises this extremely well... too well. I decided to go for a 3rd one evening and deeply regretted it the next morning.
I visited one of Chiles biggest vineyards, the beautiful Concha y Toro, and had to go easy on the tasting. Such a shame as they make a gorgeous red with the camanere grape.
I know both crave and cringe everytime i see a glass of pisco sour.
