Tradition still exists...

I notice without any confusion that in the world it is still perceived that a Man must be the instigator towards a Woman. I understand that if a Woman approaches a Man in the bar then a Man might think "she is after something". Maybe this is true, but I would consider it to be a compliment and I wouldn't think she wants to have sex with me. Is this because I am bisexual?

Now on a heterosexual dating site I am on the Women still expect the men to make the first approach. Why is this? Surely in the world of the cyberspace/internet the Woman can easily send a wink or a quick email, without the thought that they are just after sex. I would say over eighty percent of the Women on that site are after a relationship so why the hesitancy? If a Man responds to that first contact incorrectly you can just ignore them...

Having lived in America I must say that I appreciate one (at least!) aspect of their society in that if you go into a bar or restaurant everyone talks to everyone. And Women go into bars/restaurants alone for a drink or meal. This is the same of Australians. Why can't the English relax a bit, be more confident and live life....
