Niharika and Veer were sitting across the deck from the Chief Security Officer who had taken charge of the situation a little while back.
The couple was confounded by how they got here. They had been visiting the states for their honeymoon and their last stop was at New York. They decided to reach the airport early to shop at the DFS before heading home for the final leg of their journey.
"Brief me on the situation please" commanded the chief.
"Sgt. Amy was manning the body scanners and it beeped when the lady, Mrs. Niharika here was being scanned. She was scanned again and frisked as the scanner buzzed a second time. Her husband Veer is clean. They are tourists here returning to India after their honeymoon. We have checked their baggage and found nothing interesting except...erm...", he pulled out the vibrator. N & V went red. "However, we still don't know the reason so thought it best to investigate further considering the current DEFCON level. The female body scanner station is understaffed today, so we had to escort them here"
"Thanks Officer. Put down the luggage here and bring them some water. I'll take it over from here" ordered the Chief while keenly eyeing Veer first and then Niharika. She looked pretty in the summer dress. The two officers did as ordered and left.
N & V were considerably tense. "Please have some water. We wouldn't want our guests to complain of bad hospitality on the last day of their trip" said the CSO smiling. "I'm Captain Ray Holt. And let me congratulate the couple on your marriage. Hope you enjoyed your stay here"
"Th..thanks" V and N managed to mutter while sipping water. "Why are you detaining us?" demanded Veer. Niharika has already been frisked twice and she isn't carrying anything. We are on our way back to India and are being treated as criminals and subjected to unnecessary humiliation."
"Mr. Veer, I understand your perplexity. However, we are only following protocol." replied Ray sternly but in an even tone. "The protocol is to frisk the passenger once at the station. If that is inconclusive, the passenger is subject to another frisking and cavity search at our holding area and that's why you are here. Now Mrs. Niharika, if you will please stand facing the wall and cooperate"
Niharika's eyes widened at the word****avity search. Her hand gripped Veer's tight. She froze on the spot.
"But she's a female. You can't do that to her." Veer pushed back.
"That's correct sir. We have trained women officers who would undertake this wearing gloves and using special equipment. However, as we don't have enough women officers in this shift, we can carry on with this investigation once this shift changes in about 8 hours. In the meanwhile we'll keep you in the holding area. Don't worry you'll be comfortable and treated well"
"But our flight departs in 4 hours. We will miss our connecting flight as well. We have to get on this flight" complained Niharika. "Surely there has to be another way"
The captain gazed at her cleavage for a moment before responding "I have laid down your options. As it's a serious security matter, this has to be investigated. It is up to you to decide"....
