Oxford Blog: Hiatus and the importance of downtime

9:08 am Tuesday, 15th November, 2011

It's been a while since I had logged on and had some time to myself. As of late I have been rather busy, which is a bit dry and to be honest, rather boring.

Work can grind out the quirky parts of one's personality as to move ahead means to conform to a bland shell of a human being in order to make it. I don't make up the rules, I just have to play the game.

Speaking of playing games, as of late there have been none in my life. It's what happens when you take your eye off the ball.

It's funny how work makes you feel more like a robot than a human being. A colleague I work with is stunningly beautiful, we get on well but there we are in a sterile meeting room discussing the inanities of the law. Yes in the back of my mind I have a thousand fantasies sorting themselves out, but my rational side remains on focus. Opportunity for a lusty adventure lost but professional integrity maintained.

So while this post may not have salacious details of a raunchy episode, I did want to express that we must make time for ourselves. It's scary how fast time goes and we can sometimes forget ourselves in the process.

So readers, I want you to go out, flirt with your lover, do those things you always wanted to and enjoy yourselves! It goes so instantly that one must endeavour to be happy as much as possible.
