How do you define yourself?
Why you need to define yourself?
What is self-awareness?
I’m no expert of these things either.
But, I want to understand further the true meaning of this…self.
Defining one’s self is more far difficult than defining others. However, our definition to other people seems instant and easy but almost always inaccurate but essential. The moment you’re aware from the perception of others about you that is the moment you judge your own self and you might be irritated or little bit get mad that gives you the willingness to dig deeper to know yourself even more. That’s why it is essential for you to be aware somehow on what others think or perceive about you.
Then, doubt, confusion and over-thinking will arise and hunt you over. You'll respond to criticisms base on your defense character mechanism either dealing with it with an open-mind calm manner or you might switch to a short-tempered combative character (staying calm is a high level skill by the way, it is more easier to unleash your anger than staying in-control of your emotions). A calm character is a thinker a smartly clever and intelligently wise with superb mind-over-body control, on the other hand, combative character is somewhat like a vigorous beast with an over-whelming uncontrolled anger that could explode anytime in a day. Well, in my case I have both; it is just making your mind superior than your body, initially staying calm and observant, secretly organizing a plot of attack then I have the ability to flip the switch and go for the kill when circumstances needed ( Sorry for the exaggeration what i meant to ' kill' is to execute).

How you take criticism is very vital in improving yourself not to innovate it for the sake of their judgment but to learn and adjust from the eye-opener truth, half-truth or vice versa that you just knew from your own and from others. The outcome could be a blessing in disguise or an unknown disaster that will come to life.
Thus, knowing others what they think about you compare to what you think about yourself compare to what you think you supposed to be whom you are or what you might become is a one great pattern to align the path for your self-definition.
