Location, location, location

Do not panic.......I'm not about it write a TV review (although some may prefer that) but I've become intrigued by the places we say we live on this wonderfully eclectic site.  It is a choice we all make, and can change in the future:  when I say choice, perhaps it is more about our state of mind when we first register here......from the long agonized decision about taking the plunge on a contacts site for the first time, to the drunken 1 am registration when the hormones are in full flow along with the wine from the a good evening out.  In some cases the precipitous rush will lead to any location being chosen to speed up the gratification of being on the site, while others will consider long and hard (sorry, couldn't resist) whether to be honest, slightly honest, or just totally misleading.

I've come across three examples of this recently - when the chat has come around to arranging a meet, and then geography has intervened....when London has been Yorkshire, and twice when Colchester has been well west of Reading.

So there can be lots of reasons why we are open, or more creative,  about where we live. It's clear that those of us looking to meet and hook up would like to have some idea whether we are talking to someone in Manchester, Edinburgh or New York.   That said   For some of us who live in less fashionable areas (and I'm in Essex......) a more desirable post code may be desired.  Others may wish to keep their anonymity, which is a whole issue in itself, and this is one way to do so, by moving residence a few miles or hundreds of miles.  For those of us who merely wish to chat and message online, place of residence is mostly irrelevant.

So if you are brave enough to say, are you reasonably open about where you are?
