Sexual, Sensual Reflections: Pleasure and Joy

One of the most fulfilling things about our journey as a couple is developing a deeper understanding of pleasure and joy. While they appear almost similar at first glance, our experiences have shown us that there are subtle differences between the two.

Pleasure is going down on someone. Joy is settling down with someone after a long day.

Pleasure is cumming in (or on) the one you love. Joy is coming home to the one you love.

Pleasure is touching someone's genitals. Joy is touching their heart.

Pleasure is penetrating someone sexually. Joy is penetrating the multiple layers of someone's mind and heart to see who they are underneath.

The list goes on and on.

While we certainly enjoy both, it all boils down to us being true to our joys and ourselves at the end of the day. The sex can last anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. The joy can last for a lifetime.
