Picture the scene...
You are at a great party, the best in ages;
Great company, brilliant dj, free flowing drink...everybody is having a great time...then it happens....Agadoo starts playing and everybody vacates the dance floor, a couple start to have a very loud row in a corner and a drunk guy staggers across the room, projectile vomits over your feet and proceeds to knock all the drink over...all your friends are leaving, "crap party" is their parting words and finally your dad turns up, turns all the lights on and starts to tidy up and the dj pisses off with your entire record collection....
Sounds like hell and i am sure there are a number of you that feel like that has happened recently.....
Not me, the eternal party animal.... I am just gonna move on and start my own party, the night is still young and of course, you don't have to take your clothes off to have a good time.
So if you want to fight for your right to party then people hold on..
Always seemed a music blog was good to get people together and you cannot have a party without music..
And for me, music has the uncanny habit of bringing back memories of places and people,
The michal Jackson off the wall album always reminds me of living in the South of France as a kid...seemed it was the only album that French radio was allowed to play.
More recently, The Cures Friday i am in love reminds me of somebody that i do like to think about often....
Anyway, two directions for this blog,
As i have no records left cos that bloody dj nicked them, what music would you bring with you?
Or...
What song is there that holds a strong memory for you that when you hear it you are instantly transported to that place????
So play that funky music white boy..
And lets see if we can get the party started.

If I am going to host a party I know my friends will be looking for something new, fresh and original. They're not interested in trying to recreate last year's 'best party ever' as they know the magic of the moment has been and gone and it will just be a party to the monotone beat of one hand clapping. |

I should think a good, full-volume, blast of Johnny Rotten, 'Friggin' in the the Riggin'' might be a good opener

Welcum: Your party hell sketch was truly inspired and very familiar :-) However, I think at that point I'd probably move off home, have a long hot bath, and listen to Mahler's 5th symphony :-) |

Hmmmm....."whore-licks" in the bath while listening to Mahler's 5th might be a nuance worth investigating. |

I'm thinking more along allegorical lines with 'God Save the Queen' by the Sex Pistols (just keeping the band en-vogue for the site) |

Arrrrgh ! Not Wagner, please ! Our regimental march was " The Ride of the Valkyries "...you try marching to that bloody tune let alone dance to it ! If I were at a party with Miss Valiant,I would like to slow dance with her to " Cwm Rhondda ", " Sospan Fach" or " Tom and Mary ,in the Dairy " If I were with Free for Pleasure it would have to be either " I want to get you on a slow boat to China " or " The Ying Tong Song " |

And while you're in a classical frame of mind, here are two pieces certain to please when you're engaging with a lady. " Speed Your Journey " from Nabucco by Verdi ( even rhythmical tempo and the title is apt too ) Swiftly followed by the Vivaldi " Gloria " which perfectly encapsulates, heightening pleasure, culminating in blind-blowing orgasm. |
