The theory of investments

With the risk of generalising, it is safe to assume that for most species on earth, single individuals are hardwired to try to pass their own genetic material to the next generation.

In this intent the investment for the male is minimal (just few ml of fluids).
On the other hand for females the investment is enormous. Not only there is a long (very often incapacitating) pregnancy, but also the responsibility, to feed and to protect the new offspring’s.

And here comes the theory of investments.
For males, in absence of any other conditions, since the investment is so low, the best strategy is to maximise as much as possible the number of intercourses, thus maximising the chances to successfully pass their genes to the next generation. For females, since the investment is so high, the best strategy is to carefully select the males with the best genetic material and mate with them.

Now then, females have devised a series of strategies in order to contain the males’ tendency to promiscuity. One common strategy in many mammal species for example is that all females go in heat at the same time. This defeats completely the males approach, as they don’t have the time to be promiscuous. The best strategy for male is therefore to form a stable couple and to cooperate with the female in order to raise the puppies. There of course are many other strategies in different species

What about humans in all this? Can this be applied to humans as well? What do you think?

freeforpleasure	12:56 pm Wednesday, 4^th March, 2015 Well, if we are applying the concept to just this website and the common selection, then all of us women have got a great advantage. I would say there are 30 men or more for each woman here. Therefore, depending how you contact your goal, different strategies would be applied. Based on the profile and pictures. I always admire articulate men who are clear and spend some time writing something that makes sense. I prefer to read a profile because in a way it reflects the person behind a screen. About the pictures, there have been times where I wonder why a man is putting a pic that does not look just genuine or sexy or even intriguing. Once, I consider someone, then I see if he is able to hold a chat and if his mind interests me. Men here think that because a woman is on this site, it means we are ready to just go. Most of women here like to still feel attraction and chemistry and the only way to stablish that is at least with some chats that include cam if possible just to make sure the person is real. Now, a tiny problem. I am too far from the really sexy, intelligent, fun and nice guys. Oh well!! Maybe I should just become a frog...:P

My point is that 90% of the time (even outside of this website), women are able to pick and choose their mates. Men of the other hand have a much harder task... :-D As you say men have to be able to make the chemistry possible :-) but no matter what there are no clear rules on how to do this...
