Curvy: What you say may be true up to a point, but I'm not sure libido and desperation are quite the same thing :-) In the spirit of the very first blog I wrote last year, I would like to think that in the autumn of my years I can continue maintaining my standards. The trouble is, though, that I'm acutely aware of my self-image and not conceited about it because, like everyone else, I'm ageing and I know for sure I'm not in the same nick I was a decade ago. You can call it "the curse of the aesthete' eye" if you like. In some ways it's fortunate that libido decreases with age, because it provides a refuge for periods of creativityproductivity when suitable sexual partners are not around.
