Not to make light of a sad thing, Maya Angelou was an amazing woman and will be missed.

for those new on the scene here. Just to clarify my lack of sensitivity....slow4u's post came up like 5 times.....

This is just my personal tribute to a great but not so well known lady and a poem out of her many, that I particularly like, read properly not a lot of repetition but a lot of deep meaningful words. I trust by your comments Erotic that you are some prolific writer here incognito just to get your rocks off! What was your last book..."How to win friends with the written word"? Maja was a truly great lady who never sought publicity and yet was so prolific. She would never eluded to herself as a Goddess in any shape or form, even in jest. A person who can call themselves a goddess and not show a picture of said goddess could, for all we know, be Godzilla. Oh by the way not new on site and fully paid up!

ProperDom, far be it from me to interfere, but I think you may have misunderstood EG's comment to Slow4.
Slow4's comment appeared a number of times (usually caused by site slowness) which explains 'the 'repetition' comment. I'm sure she wasn't 'getting her rocks off' as you so nicely put it.

You should all get to bed early, late nights clearly don't bring out the best in us all.

Maya Angelou is very well known in the US--Her works are staples of classrooms both for teens and university studies.

I've read most of her books and some of her poetry. I am fascinated by her candidness and honesty about who she was and how she got to where she reached.


By the way:

Godzilla is one name I have not yet been called. I don't elude to myself as a goddess.....it's my username, just as you use proper and dom in the same sense. Being paid up has nothing to do with sincerity or reasons for being here. As for lack of pics, I guess I can only say that's no one's business but my own.

EG, indeed her work is well known in North America.
Amongst other things, she was an influential feminist who fought against the very things that she endured when she was younger including physical abuse, emotional trauma and being threatened into submission.
I'm confused as to why ProperDom would be so passionate about her work.

For a real lesson in humility and what the human body and soul can endure, I can recommend Mrs Mary Beecher Stowe's Uncle Tom's Cabin. Have your tissues handy.

End of as far as I am concerned..I usually stay low key on this site, not my lifestyle. I stay here because I have met some truly wonderful friends on site, some joined via same route as myself. My tribute to Maja was a personal thing based on my time spent in the USA and the fact that very little was made of her passing within UK press. Even though The President did make his own personal tribute. I have left my tribute elsewhere and it has been well received. I 'allude' to myself as proper as in real life that is who and what I am. It is something I had to come to terms with as a youngster. This all seems to have blighted my personal tribute to this wonderful lady. I have now ended and it will probably be a long time before I pop my head above the parapet, if ever some will hope no doubt.

luv2, as "proper" Doms we revere women and yes we do support feminism, ask any "true" submissive, she gets more freedom than so called vanillas, but has her own choice to be who she is....not "the good lady at home", or "the wife" et al, and does not have to play away from home to get her sense of freedom or kicks.

properdom, I think you need to take a deep breath, climb over the hump of your ego and step back and realise that eg was merely joining you in celebration of your tribute. I am not a literary person but I know eg is very well read and an articulate lady, well entitled to address herself as goddess and would be the first to want you not to disappear behind the parapet but to continue your contibutions to the blogs. I will now butt out and mind my own, nough said.
