I am a firm believer in the notion of 'lifelong learning' and the pursuit of knowledge. However, up until recently, my drive for learning has had a professional rather than a personal focus (stretch and yawn). A major flaw in my work life balance? Hell yes!
I am now pleased to say that over the past month or so my work life balance has much improved; I spend so much time on the site and people watching from afar*, I don't have much time for work. I wouldn't say that I've lead a sheltered life, but I didn't realise just how much I would learn about myself and all things considered taboo or not for polite conversation.
It really has been an education ...
Have you learned anything from being a member here?
*By the way, I'm not advocating the internet as a healthy alternative to 'real' people watching, but it can be just as much fun and as far as I am aware, you can't get arrested for it ... mwhahahah.

I get it! I've been an academic student far too long, focusing on studies and gathering knowledge that may or may not be useful to me at any point in the foreseeable future. |

Much as I love your blogs Luv2, I find myself wondering whether and when you will be ready to move beyond virtual to physical experimentation and learning ;) |

Talking of learning something new each day - I saw a sign outside a shop in Stockport today that said "Ear Wax Removed Here". I have no idea why that appealed to me so much.

@Gerry, Not too convinced that a Haynes Manual would be a popular choice. As far as I can tell, there are lots of guys around here who are already quite skilled at 'Do It Yourself'. Present company excluded, I'm sure :-) |

Luv2: Eidetic memory. Can't help it. Xboofx's fault anyway for mentioning fucking anything. |

Xboof - I have heard lots of similar tales such as yours. Someone in an earlier blog called it 'mental masturbation'. Not too sure what the answer is to that one. Perhaps an Ebay style rating system where you can give a low score for poor service (joking - I know that would never work).

I think they're adding it to the next edition of the oxford English dictionary "Boofing" for the definition there will just be a few pics from your profile Boof, a picture speaks a thousand words! |
