Fetishes and Kinks ..

The original term for fetish was used for an object of worship. A fetish was a quick word for any statue or handmade artifact that was in relation to worshipping a deity. A more mordent example would be the Christian cross. Worn on necklaces, engraved in rings, wooden statues of Jesus or the cross hung on the walls as a symbol of belief and worship.


So how does that translate over to our sexual fetishes? The difference between a kink and a fetish is the difference between enjoying a good cup of coffee in the morning and needing one.


A kink is an interest, a want or wish. A kink is liking your hair to be pulled, liking pegging, finding women with red hair attractive and so on. Kinks are things you like, things you prefer, things you want.


A fetish is worship. Worship the goddesses feet as you kneel before you. A fetish is *needing* a fetish is obsession. It's not being able to get aroused without some aspect of your very focused obsession. Maybe your fetish is bdsm, or chasity. Maybe you have to feel wanted, needed and cannot get aroused until you have their full attentionattention whether your sub or Dom.


We make the distinction because communication is important to everyone. We make the distinction to show others how serious we are about our needs and wants and passions.


The root of fetishes and kinks and other sexual needs lays in mental and emotional needs not being met. Sometimes it's caused by trauma but usually it's because of the desire for more. You crave more. You crave something taboo. You want to please and mute. You want to control and be wanted. Sometimes with cuckholds there is an intense desire to be the best and the root is competitive or they're wanting to be degraded. These emotional and mental desires will present themselves in other life aspects if suppressed for long enough. MoMost often those neglected needs then turn into more carnal desires because as animals the three basic needs we can not ignore is eating, sleeping and sex.


In every kink and every fetish there is a psychological or emotional need that demands to be satisfied. Each person has their own experience and their own needs. How beautiful is it that we live in such a world that we can desire and fulfill and want and earn. Every kink and fetish for each person has its own flavor of psychology.
