A good Dominant seeking a healthy relationship with a submissive will always have empathy for their sub… notice I didn’t say sympathy. You need to be able to empathize with them, walk in their shoes if you will, in order to give them what they need from you. Whether it’s guidance, affection, praise, understanding their limitations, punishment, etc., and it’s your responsibility in being the Dominant to get this from them. They need to clarify those things for you, and you may need to help with that too. You need to be clear in what you expect as well. Communication channels need to be established with NO obstructions in order for the relationship to grow into what you both want. As a Dom, you owe them these things for the gift of their submission to you. Remember… it IS a gift and it can be revoked. In doing these simple things from the beginning, you build a foundation on which you both stand and serve the other. These things are the basis for providing a relationship that helps you both to realize and find the sexual and emotional horizons you BOTH desire. Hope this is helpful.
