With the Navy I traveled extensively. I have visited or lived in 38 countries. I lived in Japan for 5 years and I lived in Scotland another 5 years. Though not another country I also lived 3 years in Hawaii.
Stateside I have lived in Bremerton, WA (Seattle area), San Francisco, CA, Port Hueneme, CA, San Diego, CA, Charleston SC, Norfolk, VA, New London, CT, and Alexandria, VA (Stationed in the Pentagon).
When I retired in 1994 I first lived in Emmett, then moved to Meridian in 1999. Then in 2003 I bought a 35 foot 5th wheel RV and played Snowbird until 2010. Side note, there is a saying among RVers and that is if you live full time in your RV it gets a foot shorter every year. You can do the math but you will see why in 2010 I finally 'dropped anchor (Nautical term) and decided to settle down for awhile. :) Been living here in Boise ever since.

I tried marriage once but it didn't stick and to be honest I'm damn glad it didn't. It was like a whole world of pain came off my shoulders when we called it quits after 20 years. That was over 25 years ago. I have tried finding a Mrs. Right but never did. Now I'm so used to living alone and set in my ways that I can't imagine marrying again. But I am quite physically fit for my age and still have my needs. That is why I believe I would prefer an occasional rendezvous at a local pub then retire to a hotel room for an adventure. Any encores would have to be discussed and mutually agreed to.
That said, I have not given up on the hope of finding a 'gal pal.' If her and I click sexually and we see something special in each other, then yes of course, I would consider a longer term friendship. To be honest that would make me very happy indeed.
Some of you ladies in Eastern Oregon, especially, La Grande, Elgin and Cove, may be wondering why I have been checking out your profiles. Well before I joined the Navy I lived and graduated High School in Imbler. I worked for the Boise Cascade Plywood Mill in Elgin and was a National Guardsmen at the Baker City Armory. I haven't been back for several years and am looking for a really good reason to visit. :)
