Directions to Lake Wallenpaupack House From NYNJ: Take the Tappan Zee to the NY State Thruway North heading towards Albany. You will come to the Harriman tollbooth officially entering the thruway. Just before the Tollbooth exit to your right. At that toll pay 50 cents and then proceed onto 17 West. Take 17 West approximately 19 miles to the exit for 84 West (Exit number 121 West). From Boston: However, you know best. Get to Route 84 West. Take 84 West through Connecticut. Proceed past the exits for the NY State Thruway and the exit for 17 EastWest. Continue on 84 West towards Scranton, PA. See Universal Directions below.
Universal Directions from 84 West Take 84 West approximately 41 miles from the exit for 17 WestEast to: Exit 30(Old exit #8) Porters Lake Blooming Grove Route 402 NorthSouth.
At stop sign at the end of exit ramp make right onto Route 402 North Take 402North approximately 4.7 miles. Watch your speed! At the 1.5 mark on the right hand side of this road is a police station (they sometimes have a speed trap there). At Stop sign at the end of the road make a left onto Route 6 West.
At the 2.4 mile mark you will come to a light; stay to the right and follow Route 6 West. At the 3.7 mile mark and at the light(There is a Texaco gas station on your right). Make a left hand turn onto 590 West.
Go 5.6 miles on 590 West and right after you pass a small sign on the right that says “Village of Lakeville” you will make a left turn onto Fin Swamp Road (There is a huge “Caesar's”- Cove Haven sign just before the turn) Proceed slowly on Fin Swamp Road. At the 1 mile mark the road curves ridiculously to the right(bad, bad turn) At the 2 mile mark the paved road curves hard to the right, you continue straight onto a dirt road. There is a small sign on the right hand side that says, “Briar Hill”. Go .2 miles down this road and you come to a fork in the road. Stay to your right and follow signs for Briar Hill South. At the .7 mile mark make a left onto Briar Hill South Road. At .8 mile mark make a left into the second driveway.
The house has a big deck overlooking the gravel driveway. House number 11C. The first guys to arrive should pull all the way around the house on the right-hand side. Happy Traveling!
