Subs. v submissives, who knows the difference?

Something that seems to crop up on a regular basis is the word Sub and then maybe followed by the word submissive i.e. I am a sub and very submissive. In the world of BDSM, kinksters, fetish et al,there is a massive difference between a Sub and a Submissive!

I wonder how many of you out there using these terms actually know the difference? It would be very interesting to read some of the descriptive replies, if any!

This is without even going into the terminology of "Slave"
