Before you post your blog---Blog Guidelines

1:44 pm Tuesday, 30th September, 2014

Before you post your blog!

Keeping a blog is a fantastic way of drawing members into your profile and expressing yourself. We do have some basic standards that a blog post must meet to be passed, this isn’t to make life awkward for you but to maintain a minimum level of quality for our content and ensure member safety. The criteria for blog posts is listed below and can also be found in the FAQ.

A blog must meet these simple standards:

Blogs posts should be a minimum of 50 words, short minimal posts can be posted in the forums if you don’t want to create a huge post. 50 words is not a lot at all, check out our example blog post below for an example.
All text within a blog post should be translatable so refrain from ‘text talk’ especially if it’s not in English
No contact details including phone numbers, email addresses, skype ids, addresses (these can only be shared privately, fake members will be eager to share their contact details with as many people as possible so contact details cannot be posted publicly anywhere on the site!).
Blogs should not be used for arranging events or meet-ups, this is what the Meet-Ups and Parties sections are for.
Blogs cannot contain explicit reference to illegal activity
Blogs cannot contain abuse toward other members, races, religion, sexuality etc. This is not tolerated anywhere on the site.

Example Blog Post

Me and my partner Debbie recently had our very first swing, it was absolutely fantastic!
We arranged to meet another equally hot and very horny couple in a swanky bar for some pre-drinks before reaching the hotel for the real fun. We didn’t even make it to our room though! Following our rendezvous at the bar we made our way along the seafront toward our hotel when Eileen (the wife of the other couple) pulled me onto the beach and started undressing me..We all found a secluded section of sand and got down to some red hot business as the sea lapped at our feet. Needless to say, Debbie and I are now fully converted swingers!

Good advice there Chas - especially the bit about text-speak!

I was told as a very young man ,that you could say most things to a well-balanced person but you must never insult a man's politics, religion or choice of car !
Having said that ( it was a joke ) I agree with most of the guidelines .In general, the standard of conversation, humourous or otherwise is of a reasonably good standard

Hallelujah!!!! At last i was wondering how long it would take for a menber of the powers that be to try to sort out the shambles that the blogs have become of late. Maybe now the blogs will come back to life once more. Thank You chaz.x

The proof of the pudding is in the eating but let's wait and see if the guidelines work. Like SSG & StarG I hope the creative inspiration of the bloggers returns and the vibrant, funny, thought provoking blogs that we all enjoyed get posted with more regularity.
Bloggers United let's be having you!!!

Sensual Self. I think we should have an annual Blog Conference. It would be more entertaining and of a higher intellectual standard than the political one's that have just been held. But where to hold it ? I think Lytham would be a good place then,if I found i was losing an argument or adebate,I could buzz of and play a couple of rounds of golf. Maybe ,even visit Blackpool xxxx

Yes the instructions are timely, but us seasoned vets are probably fully conversant with them. Good info for newcomers ?

Sadly, though, the "example blog" is one that I probably wouldn't have contributed to :-)

I agree the blogs - apart from a few exceptions - have become very boring lately. Items that are at least a little contentious seem to attract healthy debate, and that makes for creative posts. However, I'm not going to discourage anyone from writing about "my new high heels", "my quickie in the car park" or "my hamster's got cancer". We all have things to get off our chest :-)

Sorry to hear about your hamster skeb....

Yes I'm heartbroken. I built a little funeral pyre for him next to the wheelie bin but had to use a fire-lighter. I added his ashes to my tomato plants.

Ashes to Ashes, funk to funky....

I suppose if I'd been a "real man", it would have been a pit bull, but I think I'd have needed more fire-lighters.

Goodness me, i'm more than a tad disappointed that this hasn't be taken on board by some, as in theory it would have been a vast improvement to the blogs img src="imagesadultemoticons009.gif"

I have yet to be brave enough to post my own blog, but in truth i don't see much point at the moment as the blogs seem to be used as a place to advertise for meets which i though was what the meets of events section of the site were for. oWHile others seem to be holding a conversation between only a few rather taking it to the chat room or private mails or taking it off site rather thanusing the blogs. Pitty that some don't stick to 'Blogging' in the way the site has set out their guidelines. Shame as i though the blogs would be fun, as always seems to be the case a few are spoiling it for the many. Just my thoughts on the matter

I have to agree BBuk as the blogs do seem to be used in a rather irritating manner at the moment by a few. It saddens me as in the past they were so much fun and the banterhumour was fab but the atmosphere is slowly being killed off with the endless misuse of late. :'( x

I like this blog about blogging. Clear guidelines and honestly even though I skipped the ones that obviously are just people ads, they make more difficult for me to find the ones I really would like to read.

I have to agree with people here as the example is not something I would be very interested in but to blog is simply to even just recount an event that you think it was interesting or important and it could help other people to identify with them.

Hopefully more blogs to come from amazing people here. :)

You sure seem to have your marbles in the right place when it comes to writing blogs Lill, just a shame some others seem to have 'lost their marbles'. Anyone for a game of 'Snap' just a thought with all the duplicated blog topics going around at the moment? img src="imagesadultemoticons021.gif"

5:37 pm Friday, 27th March, 2015

img src="imagesadultemoticons021.gif" I never mean to be rude or insensitive Lill, i just can't help saying it as i see it and i alwasy call a spade a spade. Suppose i'm a shoot straight from the hip woman. But feel it's the most honest way to be as at least people know what they get from me is always one hundered percent what's on my mind, truth and honesty at all times. img src="imagesadultemoticons001.gif"

9:38 pm Friday, 27th March, 2015

No way Lill, who would ever try to upset you!? I mean Really !!!! I hope that's not the reason for your vanishing profile pics. (whisper to us and we'll sort em out Grrrr) xx
