Only reason we don't is because we are not loooking for a couple, only a straight guy, and to them what hubby looks like is irrelevent, though if you look through there are a couple of my hubby, and he has a face pic in our private media..

No shit? :-) I've even written a definition of such "couple profiles" on my current blog.

Of course a large proportion of couples profiles are undoubtedly genuine but I'm willing to bet that an equal portion are simply blokes (who may or may not be in a relationship) armed with a few pics of a womanwomen.

Ostensibly having a "woman to trade" empowers men on sites like this. Some men get off on that power and all the attention they receive by displaying female photos on their profiles. These people represent a proportion of those on this site who simply get off on online jollies and have no intention of meeting in the real world. Such titillation is sufficient for them. I'm sure that among a number of couples represented on this site who are actually in a relationship, in an appreciable proportion of cases the female half is totally unaware that the bloke is displaying her pics on the internet :-)

The trouble is, it's very difficult to rumble these people. It's only after exhaustive mail ping-pong that one realizes you're being led up the garden path.

Incidentally, contrary to what Horny says above, the male half of a couple *is* an important aspect to consider for at least *some* males. Admittedly I don't see couples often, but when I do, I need to satisfy myself that the guy is not going to be a prick or a psycho. For me, at any rate, the social aspect of meeting a couple is as equally important as sex with the woman, and I've found that in a lot of cases the male halves don't satisfy my acid test of compatibility.

Have to say as well, we have been site admin verified, which means both of us had to appear on Cam together, to prove we were the same as our pics, maybe if more couples did that people would be more at ease....
The face pic issue will carry on forever..... the main reason for our faces not being shown in full is our kids and exes from hell, who would almost take a newspaper as out telling the world if they found out, and while I appreciate we may be recognized by some people, my kids would not expect to see me on here, so even if they were, unless my face was blatently on here, I don't think they would make the connection, however there are loads of face pics of me in our private media, and at least 1 of hubby, so if they are requested by someone who we are interested in they will be sent...

Skebbie..... you and I have been there done this before, maybe it would matter more if we were into the more social side, and I have to be honest that there are 2 fairly well known couples on here who shall remain nameless, that are legit,and have loads of pics of both of them together,that have approached me and only the male has contacted me, asking for private chat etc, and it now has become apparent that the female had no clue and was not happy about it, so face pics and pics of them together made no difference, I think it's an individual thing, we only hook up with people we are happy with and vice versa, doesn't always work out, but we have a fairly good average.. lol.... just thought I had better clarify, not meaning suechris, have chatted to sue....

AdamEve: I've often thought it would be hilarious if - instead of using Avatars - men painted little faces on their penises and used them as the main profile photo. At least that would make the penis pics slightly more interesting and give guys a chance to be a little individual and creative.

I know this string is old, but I'm new here and just reading it. In our case I have hundreds of pics of my wife and very few of myself because I am usually the photographer. We have discussed how it would be nice to have someone photograph us while having sex. It's just not something you can ask your local portrait photographer to do though. Perhaps we will meet some one on here that would be willing to take pictures of us having sex and maybe the same of them in return.
I also think that men suffer from poor body self image as much if not more so as women.
Just my thoughts.

As the man in the couple, I feel that there are many scenarios in which a woman can look sexy, but I don't really feel that showing numerous images of my penis (which I AM proud of, by the way) is really doing anything for anyone. Women are more aroused by thought and ideas, while pics and video seem to drive men's arousal, as I understand it. I'd love for a woman to elaborate on this a bit.

N&S: Based on my own experience with couples, the character and attitude of the male half is crucial. If he's a decent guy and not some psycho on a power trip, he could look like Quasimodo as far as I'm concerned :-)

However, I am operating as a lone male, and couples would likely have other criteria. Certainly most female halves would probably choose playmate males who ideally would not be aesthetically challenged :-) I agree that endless dick pics are less than helpful. But if I'm considering a couple it certainly does help to have at least one clear shot of the guy (clothed or not) on the profile.

Really loving the line "aesthetically challenged"!
