I grew up in a restaurant, and by the time I was 16 I was an accomplished dishwasher and floor sweeper... I also learned to butcher meat, cook, make desserts, serve diners, and bartend. During the summers I used to get up at 6 am to start making sauces and soups, getting meats cut up, start making desserts, and fillings, preparing vegetables, setting up the dining room for customers, and by 11 am was ready to serve diners for lunch. After lunch about 2 pm I started making desserts for dinner and at 5 pm was ready again to server diners the restaurant closed at 11 pm and then I went to sleep.. sometimes. Other times just went out and had some fun.
