"Tell me about yourself" sounds like something you'd say at a speed dating event where you know nothing about the person, or when you can't think of anything else to say. It's also commonly used in job interviews when they want to put someone on the spot.
So I'm curious how you respond to this statement when you get it. So far I've just said "What would you like to know?" since I don't know even what aspect of life they're curious about.
