A broken dog
left out in the cold.
Life is more challenging.
and now I am getting old.
Watchful and listening.
Always on alert.
I still know how to enjoy myself.
By playing in the dirt.
Trapped in my own little world,
on a little patch of earth.
I really feel empowered when
given a wide berth.
I am an excellent judge and
I have a keen sense of danger
Be mindful of your approach
especially if you're a stranger
If you are not pleasant
you won't like me.
Don't back me into a corner
I still have my teeth.
Its a life of challenge and
a life of uncertainty.
But thats a dog's life with
changes you wont believe.
