I've been able to afford some of the luxuries in life due to minor successes I've experienced throughout my 20's as I am a very driven, ambitious, and self-made entrepreneur. During a recent conversation I had, I brought up how foreign it was to me that most of the individuals I grew up with are tying the knot, having their first or second baby, and or building a house. The friend I was speaking with looked at me, smiled, and said, "That's because your goals are different and much bigger than theirs." I feel that describes me perfectly. I have never been distracted by what everyone else is focused on which I know allows me the opportunities to take risks in accordance to my values.
