Many men continue to have a high sex drive, even though testosterone begins to decline around age 35. It usually decreases by about 1% per year, but it can decrease even more in some men, especially those who are stressed and have many responsibilities. And in women, testosterone is in decline at this stage of life, when most of them want to assert themselves professionally and are involved in solid relationships. New mothers as well as those who are breastfeeding can also experience decreased sex drive. This decrease in desire can be attributed in part to exhaustion, but it is also to blame for testosterone levels which drop by about half after.
