Missing interaction and seeing masks

I dont mind the safety issue of wearing masks, I was stationed un Japan in the 80s seems every worker wore a hard hat and mask 24/7. Do we really need all this. They've already contradicted themselves to the point of saying "if your neighbors wets their bed, you should wear depends to protect them"
